My full Moonstruck: High Moor 2 audiobook review can be found at Audiobook Reviewer.Often times I compare many second books in a series to The Empire Strikes Back, story climax was early, then much of the story and character building is for the next part of the trilogy, that’s exactly what happened here. Picking up immediately where High Moor left of, letting us know what happens after the final battle of the previous book. While the Moonstruck John Simpson is the main suspect in a series of brutal murders, the werewolf clan has sent a, for lack of a better term, hit squad to clean up any and all loose ends, and Simpson is one of those loose ends. Reynolds was able to keep the same feeling, the gut wrenching, the brutality, the violence and gore, keeping the horror feel to the story, instead of a cutesie paranormal story. There was a ton more werewolf action than the first book, which I appreciated greatly. Along with a few plot twists that I did not see coming. If you were a fan of the first book you must give this a listen. If you have listened to neither and are looking for an original story to disturb your soul, full of action, brutal violence, and yes even some humor and love, you must listen to this series.
