Day By Day Armageddon was a fun listen. Written a little different than all the other zombie books I have listened to. The whole book is nothing other than the journal entries of a military man. At first I wasn’t so sure about this format. But it worked for me, even adding to the suspense and the need to know what happens next.
I liked that J L Bourne didn’t waste any time getting to the zombie action. Very little time was spent building up the virus outbreak and how it spread to seemingly everywhere almost overnight. Used the time saved there by adding the personal thoughts of a man, with all of his military training, who is not sure if he will make it through. You will be taken along on an extensive battle for the military man trying to survive and eek out an existence.
I didn’t like that the audiobook was only just over 6 hours long. That’s the length of most abridged audiobooks. The ending is comparative to your favorite TV show’s season finale, leaving you hanging, stopping in the middle of the story, with you begging for more.
This being said I am looking forward to reading the next installment.
Narrator Review
Jay Snyder has such a deep and masculine voice; he made me think he was actually a man in the military. He is very adept at adding subtle emotion to his voice. I think he was the perfect choice.
